Kontur is pleased to add post-tensioning testing service for structural slabs for buildings and bridges to its growing roster of construction materials testing services. Kontur's Engineers and technicians are post-tension certified and poised to offer this unique service to clients.

Post-tensioning, a method of reinforcing concrete by tensioning high-strength steel tendons within the concrete, provides a pre-stressed compression state that counters the tensile stresses arising from loads.

Post-tensioning, a method of reinforcing concrete by tensioning high-strength steel tendons within the concrete, provides a pre-stressed compression state that counters the tensile stresses arising from loads. Post-tensioning strengthens concrete, allowing for longer spans and thinner slabs, which saves materials and provides design flexibility. It's a pivotal approach in achieving superior structural performance.

For Structural Slabs for Buildings and Bridges, Kontur can perform the following:

  • Post-Tension Cable and Anchor System Component Design to include coordination, engineering and reporting by a Structural Engineer and a certified Post-Tension Technician involving shop drawing production, Stressing Record Sheet, and Stress Loss Report. Shop drawings will be prepared to provide information which assists in confirmation of the intent of the design and to provide suppliers, fabricators or manufacturers with information which assists them in making the required components.
  • Post-Tensioning Testing to include pre-pour and concrete pour reviews, in-situ concrete strength testing, review of cable tensioning and capping, post-tensioning field review reporting, and the provision of Letters of Assurance (Schedule S-B & S-C).

We also provide post-tensioning services for rock & soil anchors. Click here to learn more about this service.
