Kontur's Quality Control Role

Kontur Geotechnical Consultants was engaged by ARC Asphalt to provide comprehensive quality control following MoTI specifications. Our mandate included:

• Preparing a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Sediment Erosion Plan, and a Rigorous Quality Management Plan, all tailored to MoTI's 2020 standards.
• Overseeing materials production on-site - monitoring aggregates and asphalt admixture atios - as well as managing sampling, lab testing (via a mobile trailer), and ongoing construction monitoring.
• Ensuring that in-place material complies with specified moisture, gradation, and compaction standards before final compaction.

Delivering on Environmental and Performance Goals

This initiative supports MoTI's broader asset management strategy in infrastructure rehabilitation. By leveraging HIR, the ministry addresses pavement distress and ride comfort while reducing carbon output by minimizing import/export hauling and reusing 100% of existing pavement. Moreover, Kontur's QC oversight helps ensure that environmental guidelines are met and that pavement lifecycle performance aligns with ministry targets.
